Every community has a past.
Some call it tradition. Others
call it history.
Some is fact, some legend - or even myth
Much of it is can be found in books and records
But a lot is unrecorded, or yet to be uncovered. Local Bondi
historian, John Ruffels, is a pioneer in this area and has provided
us with a lot of interesting information.
Our CyberBONDI community history module plans to build on the
work of Ruffels and other historians, professional and amateur.
It is a living history module, designed to grow and expand as
our Bondi Internet site grows and expands.
Everyone is invited to contribute and interact with the CyberBONDI
Community History Module.
The story of our Bondi community is your history. You can be
part of an ongoing forum on the history of our Bondi/Waverley
area. Just e-mail us at info@cyberbondi.com.au.
Record your, and your family's - and your friends' and neighbours'
- stories and memories of coming to, or growing up, and living
in our Bondi/Waverley area.
CyberBONDI's History Module is living history.
It's your history. Ensure you let others in the community know
about your stories, just as you learn about their stories, and
the community's history generally.
But above all, enjoy learning about the past and contributing
to its history.
Henry Ford was wrong. History isn't bunk. It's fun.
